Hi, guys! As you know, one of the coolest features in our Sidebar and Twitter Media themes is promo-blocks creation. Writing captions for them is an interesting and creative task. Today we’ve collected (and even invented) great slogans that illustrate how to write the best captions.
1. The Times
If The Times used Linkis to promote their new filial newspaper for iPad readers, they could write a slogan like this:
Key points in the caption: phrase “Read The Times on your iPad” targets the audience, users of iOS devices.
Slogan Yesterday is history encourage readers to be more concentrated and focused on up-to-date events, and call-to-action part Read and stay tuned encourages viewers to click on the promo-block.
2. Taxi services
The taxi & delivery service has business relationship with a popular restaurant. The taxi service wants a promo on a rather popular restaurant’s Facebook page. So, the Taxi writes a promo that is shown by its partner.
In the example above the title explains what kind of service the whole promo is devoted to and in what region. The paradoxical phrase Think, that you can’t be late until you show up that opens description part is rather popular among girls and women who often get late. It inclines them to like the page and add the phone numbers to their contact lists.
3. Blooming Lotus Hotel
Hotels prefer to speak about pleasure, beauty, relaxation. The example below is not an exception. The Lotus Hotel attracts visitors drawing the parallel between its unusual design and a flower and adds flavour to the image thanks to its exotic location – China dessert Xiangshawan.
A reader is attracted by surprising intro: a flower is blooming in a desert! After that a special promotion is offered. If a reader is interested in spending vacation time in China he/she will surely like the page to get the discount.
4. Promotion through contests for subscribers
Nice example of different contest promo-campaigns is given below. Many people make photos of dishes they cook and they will be very glad to get a prize for things they do anyway.
A cooking blog makes perfect promotion gathering likes, subscribers, gaining popularity and spending nothing but a price of several books of recipes. Join and win call-to-action assures readers that it is very fun to participate and easy to win.
5. Candies war by Skittles and M&Ms
All M&Ms fans remember that the above mentioned brands always have been competing with each other. There were slogans, adverts and pictures that mocked their rivals. Some of you can even remember marketing campaigns that included some of the slogans below:
By the way, companies with strongly built brand loyalty can ask fans to create such promos and share them with friends. Like a viral video, but without video part, this method can increase the number of fans in social networks in times.
6. Emotions in the Rainbow World of Skittles
If you look at Skittles marketing campaigns you’ll see that sometimes they publish complete nonsense. The main idea of their slogans is to catch and express the emotion and it doesn’t matter whether the final statement is smart or foolish. At the same time, it really works and each of their posts gets thousands of likes.
The reason of this success lies in the fact that Skittles have chosen strong marketing direction and educated its audience to like it. If you make your readers smile – that’s good. If they smile when they see slogans that build direct associations with your brand – you are on top of fans popularity.
7. Sony Play Station vs XBox One
Do you remember that mocking commercial that hints that Microsoft is a greedy company which doesn’t allow sharing games you’ve already bought? It seems that Sony says: you’ve bought a game and you can’t even give it to your friend to try. Even if your friend is ready to buy his own copy. Isn’t it stupid?
The promo-block that implies the same message would look like this:
8. Mathews Compound bows
This funny promotion of hunting equipment jokingly deals with many important topics: fathers and sons bonding, children education, spending time in the wild nature together, building a hereditary community of hunters, etc.
It has a viral taste and all these senses are included into a short slogan. Nice work!
9. Ralph Lauren Suits
Drawing a parallel between your goods and customers values can be very attractive. Ralph Lauren Purple Label surely knows what does it mean to be a gentleman and speak their clients language:
10. Architecture & Design studios
It’s a popular and relevant direction in design and architecture - planning and equipping small-space flats, turning them into smart hi-tech studios. A bright example of a promo for architecture team that focuses on this kind of challenges is below.
In this case the title does not include the name of the company because the name itself is not a huge brand that needs to be promoted. Instead, the service is to boost the sales thereby the promo is headlined as it is.
11. PC games
Games need huge marketing campaigns and promotion as well. Currently many gamers wait for the new Ubisoft game that is to be released in November 2013. Pre-order is already available, teasers and trailers are all over the Internet, promotion goes at full speed.
The promo-block for long-expected Watch dogs could look like this:
The promo includes all useful information: title which mentions the popular vendor and the name of the game. Description goes into details and briefly tells about the game. The phrase reminds about pre-order option and at the same time inclines to action.
N.B. Do not forget that all descriptions are limited to 120 symbols only!
P.S. In this article we’ve given all promo-blocks in new Twitter Media theme design. Do not forget that in Sidebar theme they look different!
